Based on the Presidential Decree from 22.02.2018 on "Additional measures on improvement of Azerbaijani lawyer profession" the Legal Aid and Training Centre was established by the Board of the Azerbaijani Bar Association and begun functioning on December 26, 2019. The main goals of the Centre are providing qualified legal aid, organizing work of lawyers who provide state-funded legal aid, ensuring payment of the fees to lawyers on state-funded legal aid, as well as maintaining the involvement of lawyers in in-service training with the aim of raising their professional capacities.
