On
September 12-14 of this year, an international conference titled “Making Law
Attractive for All: Develop Your Career, Empower Others, and Shape the Future” was
held in Vienna, Austria, in cooperation between the European Association of
Lawyers (AEA-EAL) and the Vienna-based “Women in Law” organization.
A member
of the Azerbaijan Bar Association (ABA), Amina Ismayilzade, participated in the
aforementioned conference.
The
purpose of the event was to promote gender equality, inclusiveness, and
diversity in the legal field.
The
conference brought together legal professionals, academics, and leaders in the
legal sector from around the world, engaging in detailed discussions about the
role of women lawyers and the challenges they face. Additionally, participants
had the opportunity to expand their professional networks, share experiences in
the workshops held, and discuss how they could lead changes in the legal system.
One of
the main focuses of the conference was strengthening women lawyers' leadership
and the broader application of gender equality within legal systems.
Moreover,
the “Young Voices: The Future of Law” panel emphasized the formation of new
generations in the legal world and the role of women in leading future legal
innovations. Another panel, titled “Unlocking Equal Pay”, discussed the issue
of wage inequality for women in the labor market and emphasized the need for
legal systems to play a stronger role in addressing this matter.
Special
attention was also given to the topics of sustainable development goals at the
conference, with sessions and seminars organized under the theme of “ESG &
SDGs”.
During
the conference, Amina Ismayilzade participated in several meetings with
representatives of international organizations, discussing matters of mutual
cooperation.
