Today, within the framework of the joint project of the European Union and the Council of Europe named HELP (Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals), which is at the same time realized in cooperation with Azerbaijani Bar Association, an online meeting and presentation related to the trainings for advocates on “European Convention on Human Rights and introduction to the European Court of Human Rights” was held.
The purpose of this event is to provide participants with preliminary information about HELP training methodology and trainings to be held.
The opening was made by the chairman of the Bar Association Anar Baghirov, deputy head of the Baku Office of the Council of Europe Kyrylo Boicheniuk and the project manager of the Council of Europe Mahir Mushtehidzadeh, and the importance of mastering modern methods of human rights education by advocates as a result of such events was emphasized.
Then, the trainers on the HELP program, Judge of the Baku Administrative Court Ilkin Rajabov and member of the Bar Association Sadig Baghirov, gave preliminary information on the trainings on "introduction to the European Convention on Human Rights" and "application of the European Convention on Human Rights in national legislation".
It should be noted that 49 members of the Bar Association will participate in the trainings which will last for 1 month and the participants who successfully completed the course will be awarded the HELP certificate of the Council of Europe.
