The delegation of the Azerbaijani Bar Association participated in the international conference in Türkiye

From March 7th to 10th of 2024, a conference titled "Innovative Frontiers in Law: Navigating the Intersections of Technology and Globalization" was held at the Istanbul Bar Association in Istanbul, Türkiye, organized by the European Young Bar Association (EYBA).

The event saw the participation of lawyers and legal experts from the United States and various European countries.

Representatives from the Azerbaijani Bar Association (ABA) attended the conference, including Mr Yunis Nasibov, ABA's authorized representative at EYBA, as well as ABA members Ms Narmin Zulfuqarli, Mr Anar Taghizada, Ms Nurangiz Garayeva, Mr Anvar Amiraliyev, and Mr Subhan Aliyev.

The conference commenced with opening remarks from Ms Filiz Saraç, the President of the Istanbul Bar Association, Ms Sevim Hazal Görmüş, the President of the Istanbul Bar Association Young Lawyers Centre, and Mr Sergiy Barbashyn, the President of EYBA. Mr Barbashyn provided information about the initiatives undertaken by EYBA, ongoing projects, and plans and addressed various challenges faced by young lawyers in their professional endeavours.

He highlighted that EYBA is built upon fundamental principles such as democracy, human rights, and the rule of law and aims to regulate issues concerning the education, welfare, and establishment of professional and social networks among young lawyers in Europe. Mr Barbashyn also emphasized the importance of gender equality, noting that the main part of the conference was held on March 8th, International Women's Day.

Subsequently, speeches were delivered by Ms Isabela Konopacka, President of the Federation of European Bars Associations (FBE), and Dr Veronika Denninger, Director of the German Federal Bar, with informative contributions from many lawyers and educators.

Throughout the conference, presentations were made on various topics, including the application of technology in the legal field, cybersecurity, global challenges faced by young lawyers, the role of artificial intelligence in law, and fundamental issues in aviation and space law in the digital age, among others.

The second day of the conference featured the General Assembly of EYBA, where ongoing projects, plans, organizational expenses, and other administrative matters were discussed.

In addition, various initiatives were undertaken during the conference to establish young lawyers' social networks, including social activities and gatherings.

The event concluded with an official banquet for the participants.
