As it is known, according to the decision of the Presidium of the Bar Association, July the 30th of each year is being celebrated as "The day of profession of lawyers of the Republic of Azerbaijan".

As a result of the devotion and sensitivity to this tradition of our people, July 30, 1919, the day of the organisation and establishment of the People's Commissariat of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was defined by the decision of the Presidium of the Bar Association as "Day of profession of lawyers of the Republic of Azerbaijan" and this decision has been welcomed by members of the Bar Association.

The Presidium of the Bar Association visited the Social Services Nursing House for Pension Retirement Beneficiaries located in the Bilgah settlement for the first time celebrating this remarkable day. The members of the Presidium provided free legal aid for 2 hours. The applications of complainants were registered and donations were distributed to the residents of the nursing house.

Opening the event, the Chairman of the Bar Association, Mr. Anar Baghirov highlighted the work done to provide a high-quality legal service for our citizens, and in this respect the importance of the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, on the "Additional Measures for the Legal Profession in the Republic of Azerbaijan" dated 22.02.2018 and expressed the need for a more sensitive approach to the needs of the elderly.

Also, during the visit, the members of the Bar Association have had various speeches about legal support and other important legal issues.

In addition, by the Decision of the Presidium of the Bar Association, free legal assistance is available to all those who apply to the lawyer at 09: 00-18: 00 on the 30th of July on the occasion of the professional holiday of lawyers. In this regard, people in need of legal aid have sought assistance from any lawyer operating in the country and has benefited from free legal aid.
