A ceremony of signing a
Memorandum of Cooperation between the Azerbaijani Bar Association (ABA) and the Kuwait Bar Association (KBA)
was held.
The memorandum defined
the provisions on joint initiatives to effectively protect the rights of
Azerbaijanis living in Kuwait and Kuwaiti people, living in Azerbaijan.
Welcoming the guests at
the meeting held in the administrative office of the ABA, the Chairman of the
ABA, a member of the Judicial-Legal Council, Mr Anar Baghirov gave detailed
information about the activities of the organization headed by him, the work
done, and expressed that in recent years, a lot of useful cooperation was
achieved by signing memoranda with Bar Associations of other countries.
At the same time, the
Chairman noted that in recent years, the application of information and
communication technologies in advocacy has been given great priority, the
“Electronic lawyer order” system created by the Board has already begun to
operate in the Republic, this system has been met with interest by lawyers and
the public, as well as increasingly improved thanks to ICT specialists.
In addition, Mr Anar
Baghirov informed the guests about judicial and legal reforms carried out by
the head of state in recent years per modern challenges, the work done in the
direction of increasing the efficiency of justice, the formation of unified
judicial practice, the creation of effective mechanisms for the principled
evaluation of judges' activities, including social protection of judges, and about
improving the provision, expanding the application of innovative and digital
technologies.
At the ceremony, Mr
Bayram Orujov, the ABA's Secretary General, made a presentation and presented the
accountability of the work done in the ABA in recent years, the judicial-legal
reforms carried out in the country, spoke about the establishment of ABA's
relations with international organizations, its membership in numerous
influential organizations, as well as many projects created within cooperation.
Expressing gratitude
for the reception, Vice-President of KBA, Mr Adnan M. Hassan highly appreciated
the establishment of cooperation with the ABA, and also mentioned about the
interaction between the two countries. He gave detailed information about the
purpose of the visit and the importance of the meeting and said that close
cooperation with ABA will play a big role in the study of international
experience by lawyers.
Then, the sides
exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and proposals for future
cooperation were voiced at the meeting.
In the end, both sides
presented each other with memorable gifts.
After the ceremony, the
guests got acquainted with the administrative building of the” Kamandar Nasibov
and Partners " Law Office (KNP) and were informed about the activities of
the KNP in detail. KNP director, Mr Kamandar Nasibov, noted that at present,
lawyer robes from more than 100 countries have been collected in the KNP, the
world's first exhibition “World lawyer robes and attributes” has been held and
a museum has been established with the support of the ABA. The museum, located
in KNP, contains a total of about 10 thousand exhibits on the history of
advocacy and justice, including medals, orders, badges, stamps and banknotes.
