Members of Lawyers Disciplinary Commission have been introduced about the standards of the disciplinary proceedings of Germany

Today, a workshop on "Some aspects of disciplinary proceedings against lawyers in Germany and European standards" has been held for the members of the Lawyers Disciplinary Commission. The presentation has been made by Dr. Rudolf Lauda, expert of the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ), member of the German Hessen Chamber of Advocacy.

During his speech, Chairman of the Bar Association Anar Bagirov highlighted the importance of close cooperation between the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Azerbaijani Bar Association, the advantage of workshops and trainings for lawyers held by GIZ and emphasized the importance of the GIZ support provided for the judicial-legal reforms in Azerbaijan.

The Head of the Regional Program in the South Caucasus of the GIZ, Thomas Meyer, noted that effective cooperation has been established with the Azerbaijani Bar Association so far, and expressed his confidence that further cooperation will be more strengthened.

Later, Professor Rudolf Lauda delivered his presentation about basics of consideration of complaints against lawyers in the German Bar Associations, the initiating of the disciplinary proceedings, the subsequent stages of the proceedings, the decisions on disciplinary punishment and other issues. At the end of the meeting, questions of the members of the Lawyers Qualification Commission have been answered.
