On February 28, a delegation led by the Chairman of the Azerbaijan Bar Association (ABA), Anar Baghirov, participated in the 53rd Conference of European Bar Association Leaders in Austria at the invitation of the Austrian Bar Association.
With its extensive and
multifaceted program, this conference has served as a crucial platform for experience
exchange and dialogue among the heads of Europe's leading legal organizations
for over half a century.
This year’s conference,
held at the historic Palais Ferstel in Vienna, focused on the theme
"Deregulation and the Rule of Law: Opportunity or Threat?"
As part of the
conference, participants were received by the Federal Chancellor of Austria and
the Austrian Federal Minister of Justice.
At the conclusion of
the event, a formal reception was hosted for the participants at the historic
Palais Niederösterreich.
Additionally, on
February 27, during their visit to Vienna, the ABA delegation attended the
meetings of the Standing Committees of the Council of Bars and Law Societies of
Europe (CCBE). During the sessions, committee members engaged in discussions on
agenda topics, participated in voting procedures, and made decisions regarding
the future directions of the CCBE.
During the visit, ABA
representatives also held meetings with the leaders of various national bar
associations, strengthening international cooperation and exchanging
experiences on legal reforms.
