Azerbaijan Bar Association Delegation Made Official Visit to Kyrgyz Republic

From February 28 to March 2, a delegation of the Azerbaijani Bar Association (ABA), including ABA Deputy Chairman Aydın Akhundov and Presidium member Muxtar Mustafayev, made an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic at the invitation of the Kyrgyz Bar Association to participate in the jubilee events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Kyrgyz legal profession.

A grand ceremony was held at the Kyrgyz Republic Philharmonic Hall. In her opening speech, the Chairperson of the Kyrgyz Bar Association, Meyil Begilerova, welcomed the guests and spoke about the significance of the event, as well as the progressive steps taken and achievements made in the Kyrgyz legal profession in recent years.

Following this, officials delivered speeches congratulating everyone on the 100th anniversary of the Kyrgyz legal profession and wishing lawyers success in their future endeavors.

Additionally, a documentary film titled The History of the Kyrgyz Legal Profession was screened during the event.

As part of the celebrations, a reception was organized for the guests at the Ala-Archa State Residence. During the reception, ABA Deputy Chairman Aydın Akhundov greeted the Kyrgyz lawyers, conveyed his best wishes, and expressed his gratitude for the invitation. He emphasized the importance of the relationship between the legal institutions of the two brotherly nations and highlighted the role and prestige of the legal profession in society.

ABA Presidium member Muxtar Mustafayev also addressed the guests, underlining the significance of such events in enhancing professional standards among lawyers and sharing international experience.

It was noted that a special journal dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Kyrgyz legal profession had been published, featuring a congratulatory letter from ABA Chairman Anar Baghirov. In his letter, he emphasized the crucial role of the legal profession in ensuring a just society, upholding the rule of law, and protecting human rights.

The Chairman stated that Azerbaijan and the Kyrgyz Republic, as two Turkic nations, share deep-rooted friendship and historical brotherhood, which is also reflected in their close cooperation in the legal sphere. In particular, the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding signed between the Bar Associations of both countries holds great importance, as it has laid the foundation for strong cooperation between the legal institutions of these two brotherly nations.

Anar Baghirov also noted the undeniable role of the Declaration of Intent signed among the heads of Turkic World Bar Associations and its implementation. He expressed confidence that within the framework of this cooperation, joint efforts will yield fruitful results in the future, further strengthening both professional and personal ties.

At the conclusion of the event, awards and gifts were presented.
