On November 4, 2025, a meeting was held at the Bar Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the delegation led by Mr. Barısh Gunaydın, President of the Eskishehir Bar Association of Türkiye.

Opening the meeting, Mr. Anar Baghirov, Chairman of the Bar Association, welcomed the guests and emphasized that the bonds of brotherhood and friendship between Azerbaijan and Türkiye continue to strengthen in the legal sphere as well.

The Chairman provided detailed information on the reforms, institutional development, and international cooperation initiatives carried out within the Bar Association in recent years.

Referring to the Summit of Bar Associations of the Turkic World, jointly organized by the Union of Turkish Bar Associations and the Bar Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Ankara last year, Mr. Baghirov noted that the declaration of intent signed at that event had made a significant contribution to enhancing cooperation. He also expressed confidence that in the near future, a Union of Bar Associations of Turkic States would be established.

Furthermore, Mr. Baghirov spoke about the historical development of the legal profession in Azerbaijan, the Bar Association’s financial independence, and the implementation of an electronic management system. He underlined that the state continues to pay consistent attention and provide strong support for the advancement of the legal profession.

In turn, Mr. Barısh Gunaydın expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and noted his great satisfaction with the first official meeting. He voiced hope for future cooperation between the two institutions, including the exchange of professional experience and the organization of joint training programs and seminars.

During the meeting, a proposal was made to establish a sister partnership between the Sumgayit Regional Bar Office and the Eskishehir Bar Association. Mr. Baghirov highly appreciated this initiative, emphasizing the importance of further expanding mutual relations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, held discussions on future collaboration, and presented commemorative gifts.
