As is well known, on March 30, 2023, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the American Law School (SAL program) and the Bar Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan (BA). According to the agreement and the exclusive benefits obtained, BA members are given priority during admission, and an additional 10% discount is applied to BA members for the SAL program tuition.

Phase 1 – SAL

• February 2026 – December 2026
• 10 LL.M. credits
• Hybrid format – 10 different courses taught over just 10 weekends by American professors, both online and in-person at the SAL center in Tbilisi
• TOEFL or IELTS is not required

SAL Tuition:

• SAL program tuition: USD 6,850
• Payment can be made in three installments
• For BA members applying by January 20, 2026, a 10% discount applies (USD 6,165)
• For BA members applying by December 15, 2025, the discounted tuition is USD 5,900

Application Process
Please submit the following documents electronically:

• Updated CV in English
• Copy of law degree(s)
• Copy of foreign passport or ID card
• In your CV, provide the name, surname, position, phone number, and email of a referee

Documents must be in English. If your diploma is only in a local language (other than English), include a translation into English (notarization is not required).

Additionally, please inform the BA via email (office@barassociation.az) about your application. Once the BA receives your email, it will officially forward the relevant information to the SAL program founders, and discounts will be applied to the tuition for applying lawyers.

Phase 2 – LL.M. at Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Tech

• Transition: After graduating from SAL, students can smoothly continue to the LL.M. program at Chicago-Kent, Illinois Tech. Continuation in the LL.M. program is fully guaranteed.
• Duration: The LL.M. degree can be completed in 5 months (one semester) or 9 months (two semesters).
• Scholarships:
• All SAL graduates automatically receive a 75% tuition scholarship.
• SAL graduates who complete the program with a 4.0 final GPA receive a 100% tuition scholarship.
• Support: SAL graduates receive full support for visa applications, document preparation, and LL.M. application procedures. They also receive guidance and resources to find suitable accommodation.
• Language Requirement: SAL graduates are exempt from the TOEFL exam to continue their LL.M.

Chicago-Kent Tuition:

• For SAL graduates, one semester of LL.M. tuition at Chicago-Kent is USD 10,000 instead of the usual USD 43,860.
• Tuition can be paid in installments after arrival in Chicago.
• If SAL graduates choose a two-semester LL.M., the tuition for the second semester is USD 7,250.
