From 26 to 28 November 2025, the Plenary Session of the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) and a meeting of the CCBE Platform for Exchange, Cooperation and Support (PECO) Committee were held in Paris, France.
The Azerbaijan Bar Association was
represented at these events by Elchin
Usub, Member of the Presidium of the Association.
During the plenary
meeting on 26 November, the CCBE
leadership highlighted the significance of the session and presented the
agenda. Participants heard a series of presentations and reports, followed by
in-depth discussions on recent developments in the legal profession and key
objectives for the future. Several important issues were raised, and
participants exchanged views on matters of current relevance.
As part of the program,
discussions also focused on CCBE’s future strategic priorities, draft documents
concerning mechanisms for the payment of lawyers’ fees during enforcement proceedings,
and the determination and justification of enforcement costs, along with other
ongoing issues. At the conclusion of the discussions, a number of
organizational and procedural decisions were adopted.
On 28 November, at the invitation of the Paris Bar Association, Elchin Usub
took part in an international conference held in connection with the opening of
the “Year of Law.”
Representatives of leading legal organizations from various countries discussed
current challenges facing legal systems, opportunities for international
cooperation, and prospects for the development of the legal profession.
In addition, Elchin
Usub held bilateral meetings with representatives of several international
organizations and bar associations from different European countries. These
discussions focused on the exchange of professional experience, sharing of
information, potential areas for future cooperation, and the development of new
partnerships.
The events concluded with a formal reception for participants.
