Today Mr Saman Zarifi, Secretary general of International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) and the delegation led by him visited the Board of the Bar Association. The guests were welcomed by Mr Anar Baghirov, Chairman of the Azerbaijani Bar Association and by the deputy chairmen Mr Aydın Akhundov and Mr Parviz Alakbarov.

During the meeting, the guests were informed about the works done in recent times by the Bar Association in field of lawyer profession, as well as Mr Anar Baghirov expressed his gratitude to the Head of Commission for the support on organization of the international conference named "The Role and Independence of Lawyers: Comparative Perspectives" that will be arranged jointly by the Bar Association and the Council of Europe on November 15-16.

At the same time, Mr Saman Zarifi, Secretary general noted that ICJ is interested in further development of lawyer profession in Azerbaijan and cooperation in this field, as well informed about the worldwide activity of ICJ.

Ms Ruashin Pillay, Mr Temur Shakirov and Ms Ulviyya Hasanova from ICJ staff also participated at the meeting.
