From March 26 to 29,
the European Young Bar Association (EYBA) held its next large-scale
international spring conference in Faro, Portugal.
During the four-day
event, Yunis Nasibov — a member of the Azerbaijan Bar Association (ABA),
co-chair of the ABA’s “Young Lawyers” Committee, and the ABA’s authorized
representative to EYBA — along with ABA members Sona Salimli-Alasgarova and
Nurangiz Garayeva, attended the conference. Lawyers and legal professionals
from various countries also participated, discussing current legal issues,
global challenges, and the future development of legal systems.
As part of the
conference, an official opening ceremony, plenary sessions, and various panels
were organized. Key topics included “Young Lawyers and Global Challenges,” “Is
Democracy at Risk?”, and “Regulation of Digital Platforms in Europe:
Opportunities and Risks.” Additionally, discussions touched upon the role of
lawyers in society, ethical issues within organizations, and innovations in the
legal field.
During the conference,
Yunis Nasibov and Sona Salimli-Alasgarova delivered speeches, providing
information about the EYBA Autumn Conference to be hosted by Azerbaijan this
October. They emphasized that the event would be organized at a high level,
serve as an important platform for the international legal community, and offer
participants a rich program both professionally and culturally.
Within the framework of
the conference, discussions were also held on strengthening professional
networks among lawyers, particularly expanding connections among young lawyers,
alongside various social activities.
At the end of the
event, an official gala dinner was organized for participants.
It should be noted that
the EYBA Autumn Conference is scheduled to take place on October 8–10 of this
year.
