On 12 May 2026, members of the Business Law Committee of the Azerbaijan Bar Association (ABA) participated as speakers at an event titled “Resolving and Preventing Business-Related Disputes,” organized by the Legal and Compliance Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham Azerbaijan).
The event featured
discussions on the resolution of disputes arising from business activities, the
application of preventive legal mechanisms, and the role of compliance tools in
corporate governance.
The panel included
Nazli Ahmadova, Chair of the Business Law Committee, and Committee members Fuad
Gasimov, Dunyamin Novruzov, and Allahveran Orujlu. The event was moderated by
Bahar Kavuzova, also a member of the Business Law Committee.
During the discussions,
participants exchanged views on the evolving legal practice in Azerbaijan
concerning the resolution of commercial and other business-related disputes,
the key legal challenges faced by businesses, current approaches in judicial
practice, and the importance of compliance mechanisms in managing legal and
operational risks.
The speakers emphasized
the importance of strengthening institutional cooperation between the business
and legal communities, improving internal governance and compliance mechanisms
aimed at preventing disputes, and fostering a more stable, transparent, and
predictable legal environment.
Participants noted that
professional platforms of this kind make a significant contribution to the
development of legal dialogue, the enhancement of legal awareness within the
business community, and the promotion of preventive legal approaches.
