On June 4–5, 2026, the 17th Annual Business Law Forum, organized by the General Assembly of the International Association of Lawyers (UIA – Union Internationale des Avocats), was held in Zurich, Switzerland.
The forum brought together lawyers and legal
professionals from around the world. The Azerbaijan Bar Association (ABA) was
represented by its members Afifa Asgarova Kazanci, Narmin Suleymanli, Gulay
Safarova, and Khayala Jafarova.
As part of the forum, a series of meetings were held
to further expand the Azerbaijan Bar Association's international cooperation.
The ABA representatives met with Georg Rauber, President of the Swiss Bar
Association, as well as representatives of bar associations from various
countries. The discussions focused on prospects for bilateral cooperation, the
exchange of professional experience, and future joint initiatives.
During the meeting, Georg Rauber stated that he
plans to visit Azerbaijan in the near future. He shared his positive
impressions of the country and expressed the Swiss Bar Association's interest
in strengthening cooperation with the Azerbaijan Bar Association.
For reference, the International Association of
Lawyers (UIA), founded in 1927 and comprising members from 110 countries, is a
global and multicultural organization that promotes professional development,
supports legal education and networking among lawyers, and advances the rule of
law worldwide.
