Participates in International Conference in Italy
From June 18 to 21, 2026, the European Young Bar
Association (EYBA) held its Summer Conference and Annual General Meeting in
Turin, Italy.
The Azerbaijan Bar Association (ABA) was represented
by Yunis Nasibov, a member of the ABA, Co-Chair of the ABA's Young Lawyers
Committee, and the ABA's authorized representative to the EYBA, as well as Sona
Salimli-Alasgarova, a member of the Azerbaijan Bar Association.
The conference was also attended by Claudio Visco,
President of the International Bar Association (IBA); Roman Završek, President
of the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE); professors from
leading universities in various countries; distinguished legal scholars and
experts; and executives and representatives of Italy's leading companies. The
participants delivered presentations and engaged in discussions on a range of
current legal issues.
In accordance with the conference agenda, panel
discussions and workshops were organized on topics including the impact of
artificial intelligence on the legal profession, digital transformation, data
protection, digital rights, the future of legal services, legal ethics, and the
contemporary challenges facing the legal profession.
As part of the conference, Yunis Nasibov and Sona
Salimli-Alasgarova delivered a presentation introducing Azerbaijan's legal
community, the activities of the Azerbaijan Bar Association, the country's
ongoing digitalization initiatives, the broad implementation of electronic
legal services, and opportunities for international cooperation. During the
presentation, they also announced that the EYBA Autumn Conference 2026 will be
held in Baku, which generated considerable interest and discussion among the
participants.
In addition, the EYBA Annual General Meeting focused
on the Association's activities, ongoing projects, future development strategy,
and international cooperation. Participants also adopted decisions regarding
the organization's upcoming events and future areas of activity.
It should be noted that the EYBA Autumn Conference
will take place in Baku from October 8 to 11, 2026. The conference, entitled
"AI, Data and Digital Rights: The Same Trend, Different Approaches,"
is expected to bring together hundreds of lawyers, legal practitioners,
academics, representatives of government institutions, and international legal
organizations from across Europe and around the world.
The organizers of the EYBA Baku Conference invite
all participants to discover Azerbaijan's rich history, renowned hospitality,
and modern development during their visit.
