Today, the delegation headed by Mr. William Gill, Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy has officially visited the Presidium of the Bar Association.

Welcoming the high-level guest, Mr. Anar Baghirov, Chairman of the Bar Association at first thanked Mr. Gill for his goodwill visit and shared his views on the advancement of lawyer profession, in particular, increasing the number of lawyers, enhancing their professionalism and the importance attached by the Bar Association to international relations and the establishment of cooperation in this direction. He also provided information about the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on additional measures for the improvement of lawyer profession, dated 22.02.2018 and on the work done by the Bar Association on the implementation of the Order. In his speech, Mr. Anar Baghirov also assessed the visit of the US embassy official to the Bar Association as a contribution to the increase of prestige of the legal profession in our country.

Later, Mr. Gill expressed his gratitude for high hospitality and sincere exchanges, invitations of representatives of the Embassy as an observer in the admission exams, voiced his views on the possibility of the Bar Associations assistance to the citizens applying to the Embassy on their legal problems, as well as their legal initiatives supported by the Embassy.

Then a memorial photo was taken with the guests and they were acquainted with the administrative building of the Bar Association.

It should be noted that the meeting was attended by Mr. William Solley, Advisor on Political Affairs of US Embassy, Mr. Aydin Akhundov and Mr. Parviz Alakbarov, deputy chairmen of the Bar Association, and Mr. Farhad Najafov, Head of the Administration Office of the Bar Association.
