Today delegation headed by Mr. Alexandre Guessel, Director of Political Affairs of Secretariat of the Council of Europe has visited Azerbaijani Bar Association. The main purpose of the visit is to prepare the next report on the state of implementation of the commitments entered into by Azerbaijan before the Council of Europe.

After greeting the delegation Mr. Anar Baghirov, Chairman of Azerbaijani Bar Association delivered a brief speech on ongoing works about strengthening the independence of the legal profession, raising the capacity of training with regard to lawyers, cooperation with the Council of Europe on training issues, as well as the promotion of the CoE HELP program among Azerbaijani legal community. After the issues that raise mutual interest had been discussed.

The guests had also chance to be introduced the administrative building of the Association.

Mr. Faxraddin Ismayilov, Head of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Council of Europe and Mr. Zoltan Herneys, Head of Council of Europe’s  Office in Baku were also among the guests.
