A delegation led by the newly appointed Representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees to our country, Quido Ambroson, visited the Bar Association.

Welcoming the official guest, Mr.Anar Bagirov, the Chairman of the Azerbaijani Bar Association wishing him success in his new job, stressed that the Delegation's official visit for the second time and expressed his interest in cooperating with other UN agencies.

Further, Chairman Bagirov emphasized the need for enhancing the number of lawyers in our country, especially in the regions, stimulating the activities of lawyers, deepening our lawyers' knowledge in the field of humanitarian and refugee law and highlighting the importance of the High Commissioner for Refugees. He also provided detailed information on the activities of the organization headed by Quido Ambroso, in particular, on the work being done to protect the interests of foreign refugees who have emigrated to our country for asylum, and the cooperation with the Bar Association in this regard.
