The compulsory training of candidates for advocacy has begun

As part of President Ilham Aliyev's recommendation to increase the number of lawyers in the country, the activities on admission to the Bar are still underway. To this end, special examinations are currently being conducted in a transparent and objective manner.

On September 2, the Academy of Justice has launched a mandatory training course that will last up to one month, with 94 candidates who were successful in both written and oral exams.

During the training, special attention will be drawn to the acquisition of the necessary knowledge and skills, as well as the study of international experience, with the participation of influential experts on human rights, legal ethics, and other relevant issues.

Further, Mr.Anar Bagirov the Chairman of the Azerbaijani Bar Association spoke about the development of the Legal Institute and future plans, the Presidential Decree "On Additional Measures on Advancement of Legal Profession in the Republic of Azerbaijan" dated February 22, 2018 and noted the importance of increasing the number of lawyers in the country at the expense of educated and professional lawyers.

At a meeting with candidates on the first day of compulsory training, which began on September 2, Acting Rector of the Academy of Justice Elchin Khalafov delivered a speech at the event, highlighting the importance of compulsory education of lawyers and wishing young lawyers a success.

At the same time, it was stated that the trainers' are mainly professional lawyers. It is also planned to organize practical training for candidates as well as visits to museums and other cultural facilities. Later, Mr.Anar Bagirov the Chairman of the Azerbaijani Bar Association gave a lecture on "Advocacy in Contemporary Judicial Reform" and answered the questions that interested the candidates.
