On September 11-14, the 3rd Summit of the General Assembly of the Legal Associations of Turkic-Speaking and Relative Countries was held in Ankara and Sivas cities of Turkey. At the event, our country was represented by a delegation led by Mr.Anar Bagirov, the Chairman of the Bar Association of Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Mr.Metin Feyzioğlu, the Chairman of the Union of Bar Associations of Turkey said that the year 2019 was a remarkable year for Turkey. The invaluable support of many Turk-Av countries in the fight against the occupation at the end of World War I was noted. Also, it was highlighted that it is of special importance that this meeting coincides with such a date.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr.Anar Bagirov the Chairman of the Azerbaijani Bar Association, congratulated Mr.Metin Feyzioglu, the Chairman of the Union of Lawyers of the Republic of Turkey on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Bar Association, and presented a rug with the emblem of the Turkish Bar Association to Mr.Feyzioglu.The meeting considered the admission of the Bar Association of Uzbekistan and the Bar Association of Eastern Azerbaijan (Tabriz) to the organization and a positive decision was made.

In the second part of the meeting and international law symposium dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Sivas Congress had taken place in Sivas.

Speaking at the event, Mr.Anar Bagirov the Chairman of the Azerbaijani Bar welcomed the participants of the symposium on behalf of the Turkish-Av and the Azerbaijani Bar Association, emphasized that the city of Sivas is sacred to all Turkic nations and emphasized the importance of this event in Sivas. Mr. Bagirov also informed, the participants that in 2019 Azerbaijani lawyers will celebrate 100th anniversary of Azerbaijani Advocacy.

In addition, the delegation of the Bar Association met with the Governor of Sivas, Salih Ayhan. At the end of the meeting, the Governor of the city of Sivas presented a valuable gift to the Bar Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan - a two-head eagle charter, a symbol of the ancient Turks, a symbol of the city.

It should be noted that during the visit, the Azerbaijani and Turkish lawyers wore each other's mantle symbolizing the 101st anniversary of the liberation of Baku from the Armenian-Dashnak forces, adhering to the agreement reached between the Azerbaijani and Turkish Bar Associations. Also, the Chairman of the Azerbaijani Bar Association and Deputy Chairman of the Union of Bar Associations of Turkey Hussein Uzbek have made a joint statement.

At the event, Azerbaijan was represented by a delegation consisting of the Chairman of the Azerbaijani Bar Association Mr.Anar Bagirov, Deputy Chairman Aydin Akhundov, members of the Board, Mr.Mukhtar Mustafayev and Mr.Vugar Babayev, member of the Special Commission of Lawyers Mr.Mehman Sultanov.
