A meeting of the Board of the Azerbaijani Bar Association (hereafter the “ABA”) was held today in the video-conference format. The Chairman of the ABA Anar Baghirov, opening the meeting, gave information to participants about the current activity of the Association, discussed some issues related to the strengthening of the material and technical base, construction and repair work of the Law Offices of the ABA in Baku and remote areas in order to improve the activity of lawyers.
At the meeting of the Board, the issues related to the relocation of some lawyers to another Law Offices upon their requests, release from membership fees of several lawyers for good reasons were considered and positive decisions were made.
In addition, requests submitted by lawyers, infected with “COVID-19” and suffering from the disease were considered, and relevant decisions regarding provision of them with financial support were made at the meeting.
At the meeting, on the eve of Ramadan holiday, guided by the principle of humanism, court appeals on disbarments of Irada Javadova, Shahla Humbatova and Turkel Suleymanli from the ABA and suspensions of their activities were withdrawn and the decisions on reinstatements of them as members of the ABA were made.
In addition, within the framework of the meeting, a number of disciplinary cases were considered, relevant decisions were made and at the end, other important issues related to the activities of the ABA were discussed.
