The success of the Azerbaijani Bar Association (ABA) continues in the international arena. As a logical continuation of the work done in this sphere during the last 4 and a half years, ABA applied for membership to the European Association of Lawyers – Association Européenne des Avocats (AEA-EAL) this year. After a positive evaluation and a successful process, on September 29, 2022, ABA was officially accepted as a member of AEA-EAL.

AEA-EAL was founded in 1986 by former members of the International Association of Young Lawyers who decided to strengthen links of members (networking), share experience in professional matters on the cross-border field as well as broaden their knowledge of European law.

The Association has members from various jurisdictions in Europe and outside of Europe (Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands, United Kingdom and the United States). The growing network of lawyers helps its members to develop professional and social contacts and to expand their activity.

Currently, around half of AEA-EAL members are individual lawyers, 40% are law firms, and less than 10% are bar associations.
