During the last 3 months, the Azerbaijani Bar Association has been represented at a number of important international events.

On October 27, 2020, Chairman of the Board Anar Bagirov participated in the annual UIA General Assembly consisting of the heads of the Bar Associations, members of the UIA. The event discussed the election of a new president and executive committee of the UIA, as well as many issues related to the 1-year activity.

Furthermore, on October 30, 2020, Elchin Usub, a member of the Azerbaijani Bar Association, participated in a web conference of the German Bar Association. The event discussed the opportunities and risks of Ultra Vires-Scutiny following the PSPP decision of the German Constitutional Court .

On November 25, 2020, the Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Azerbaijani Bar Association participated in an event organized by the UIA on " How can Bar Associations help their members maintain their mental health after Covid- 19?”Managing stress in difficult times

In addition, Farhad Najafov, Advisor to the Chairman of the Bar Association, participated in the international event of the Kazakhstan International Lawyers Forum on November 27. The main theme of this event was digitalization and advocacy: new challenges for the rule of law, justice and protection of human rights.

Then, on December 17, Shahmar Mammadov, Director of the Legal Aid and Training Center of the Bar Association, participated in the UIA open forum "Steps taken to promote public legal education." He spoke about the training center of the Azerbaijani Bar Association , compulsory trainings, specialisation courses, trainings for lawyers and legal assistants, promotion of legal education, and  other actual issues.

Finally, we would like to note here that, as you know, on October 13, 2020, the Azerbaijani Bar Association was finally admitted as a member of LAWASIA. LAWASIA is an association of judges, lawyers and legal organizations covering 5 continents, working on the interests and problems of the legal profession, and Azerbaijani Bar Association is the first Bar Association in the CIS and Eastern Europe to become a member of LAWASIA.
